first post eek.

Hi, I’m Tasha and this is the first post of my new and shiny blog. If you’ve read my ‘about’ page you’ll know I’m currently a student based in Leeds studying English Literature. I spend lots of time reading old books in old libraries and although I do love rambling these fictional worlds, my main passion is exploring this world. That’s what this blog is going to be about. I’m going to document my adventures in writing and pictures as I travel around. I won’t be completely restricted to writing about travel, however: I’m an opinionated person and I’m excited to use this space as a platform to talk to my dear attentive friend, the Internet, about my thoughts on all kinds of fabulous things.

You might be wondering- hey, how are you planning to run a travel blog while living in one place? Well, my vigilant reader, at the moment my plan is to write about all the places I’ve been in the past year or so, initially. Since last September I’ve been to Budapest, Paris, Amsterdam, Reykjavik and Puerto del Carmen in Lanzarote, not to mention all over London and the North of England. I’ll spend the next few months writing all about these places, where to go, where to avoid and telling stories of my experiences and any troubles that I’ve encountered.

This summer I’ll be spending a month in the Loire Valley in North France learning French and after that I’ve planned a month-long trip around Eastern Europe and the Balkans, travelling from Romania up to Slovenia in a U-shape. You’ll get the pleasure of hearing all about these beautiful places in detail and seeing my millions upon millions of pictures. (yaaay)  I really can’t stop taking pictures when I get on a roll, just as a heads-up. I know photographs taken with my iPhone whilst running for a bus or on a moving train aren’t going to turn out great. I just- can’t- help it…

Next year from September I’ll be studying in Lyon -which is so exciting!- and as well as perfecting my language skills (hurrah, French) I’m going to take advantage of my location by exploring the Alps regions and surrounding countries.

By the time I finish my degree, I hope (fingers crossed) to have saved up some money to go travelling long-term with no end in sight. I’ll finally venture out of Europe and see Asia, the Americas, and anywhere else my wanderlust takes me.

Much love ❤

  1. Good luck Tasha 🙂 And don’t worry about the quality of your photos with a phone – sometimes they might not turn excellent, but their content would speak for itself. Looking forward to your posts!

  10. I looked at Leeds and absolutely loved it – it’s the best of both worlds as a uni, such a nice campus but in the middle of a city with amazing nightlife, and all the courses have such good modules! (The only downside for me was that I can’t choose one particular subject to study!) year abroad is also something I desperately want to do so congrats for getting a place on yours in Lyon! ❤️ and I’m also spending a month in France this summer to learn more French so that’s cool 🙂 it sounds like you have some amazing things coming up so looking forward to following your posts! 🙂 xx

      1. They do! All the city centre of Nantes is beautiful^^ There’s the castle, you can go to Passage Pommeray which is like an “indoor street” and it’s soo beautiful! There’s also l’île de Versailles which is a tiny island in the centre with a japanese garden theme… And you can rent little boats there to sail on the river and see some of the countryside 🙂 The only problem is that there’s been riots recently in Nantes because of a new law so some idiots use protesting as an excuse to break everything and set stuff on fire! 😦 I hope it will be fixed when you go! xxx

I lived there for almost 2 years 🙂 That’s where I met my boyfriend (in the hostel we were both living in! haha) and then we stayed with my parents for a year, Edinburgh for over a year and now we’re travelling 🙂 I really miss London! We’re going there in a few weeks actually and I can’t wait! I want some orange juice from that guy in Camden 😉
